The viewpoint is located at the summit of one of the mountains surrounding the city, and offers panoramic views of Bilbao on one side, and the Txorierri Valley and the airport on the other. On clear days, it even offers views of the ocean. There are two sculptures at the viewpoint: El Engranaje (The Gear) is an original part from the first Artxanda cable car and dates back to the 1910s, and the Huella Dactilar (Fingerprint), created by Juan José Novella, is a sculpture commemorating the victims of the Spanish Civil War.
There are several ways to reach the viewpoint. We recommend using the tour bus to reach the Funicular de Artxanda (stop 10), which has been linking Bilbao to the summit of Monte Artxanda since 1915. The trip takes no more than three minutes and the cars run every 15 minutes. Source: http://www.bilbaoando.com
