Doña Casilda Park was opened in 1920, when Doña Casilda Iturrízar donated the land on which it was built, to the City Hall of Bilbao. One of the most characteristic monuments of this green area is dedicated to her. The work of Agustín Querol (Tortosa, 1860 - Madrid, 1909), it is located in the centre of the rectangular pond in the Pergola Walk and consists of a large column, richly decorated and crowned by a bronze bust of the park’s benefactor.
